Guest sparking247 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 How do i move music files from the pc to spv e200 to act as a ringtone
Guest Matt Kirby Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 A bit of a blatant plug, but the easiest way is to use http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=94921>SmartPhoneSendTo. Admittedly I would say that as I wrote the program! :D The other way is to use ActiveSync to explore your phone, and go to "IPSMApplication DataHome" (for Smartphone 2002 OS phones) or "StorageApplication Data" (for 2003 OS - such as your E200) and create a folder called "Sounds" if it's not already there (with the capital "S"). Dump your .wav's in there and that's it.
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 IMO it is easier to explore the Phone using active sync rather than SmartPhoneSendTo, sorry matt!
Guest Matt Kirby Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 No problem, I find my software easier which is why I wrote it, but I know that not everyone will like it which is why I also suggested the ActiveSync method along with my blatant plug. Horses for courses!
Guest sparking247 Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 thanks for the advice, do the files have to be of the wav type, its seems i can delete recent downloaded ringtones but the music files that i moved to the sounds folder didnt show up
Guest Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 They either have to be wav or midi files to be used as ringtones. Loads of suitable wavs can be found in http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=66965>this thread, it's also worth checking in the "Customisation" section on MoDaCo, that's where most people post the ones that they have done. If you want to make your own tones have a look at Simon Desser's guide http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90760>here.
Guest sparking247 Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 i cant understand why the files dont show on the phone but do on the pc,they are mp3 files so there shouldnt be a problem
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 The SPV range will not play MP3s as ringtones etc unfortunately
Guest sparking247 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Thanks to everyone who replied with info,i can now transfer my files to my spv e200.
