contact manager whit photos

2 question :

1)Exist a contact manager that show all the information about a contact and also a photo associate to the contact? i would like use it and don't use the normal contact manager on my mpx200

2)is possible associate this "particular" contact manager to 1 of 2 special key ( program and contact key,i mean) ?

I think that you can do this by hacking the Reg Key: HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftShellRai:MSCONTACTS but i'm not entirely sure how! Perhaps you caould ask SpaceMonkey as his Surreal Start app does a similar thing with the programs button.

i realise that - thats why i gave you the reg key for the CONTACTS button. If you look through it there are a few entries and i'm not sure which/how to change to make the CONTACTS key point to a different app. I suggested that SpaceMonkey's Surreal Start did something SIMILAR with programs. Perhaps you could donwload the Surreal Start trial and look at the changes to the reg key for programs (HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftShellRai [Values] :MSCPROGS) it makes and do a similar thing with contacts.

Ok i realise that English isn't your first language and it seems that you didn't understand all of my last post, so i've done all the hard work and figured out how to set the IA Phot Contacts app to appear from the contacts button on the homescreen :D

Here's what you do:

Go to the registry key HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftShellRai[Values] :MSCONTACTS

Go to the key called 1

Change the Value Name from 1 to something like Backup then press done

Create a new key [Menu>New Value>String]

For the value name enter: 1

For the value data enter: IA_Photo_Contacts.exe

Done

Restart the phone.

This method works for me, but that's on an E200 with IA Photo Contacts in the ROM. On your MPX200, instead of "IA_Photo_Contacts.exe" you will need to enter the location of the file e.g."Storage CardProgram FilesIA Caller IDIA_Photo_Contacts.exe" or whatever it is called on your phone.

Ok i hope this helps you. If all goes wrong you can delete the key called 1 that we created and change the name of backup back to 1, restart and it should all be as before.

i try all modify it with reg editor but there is a problem :

i try with entire path where i put photocontacts ( storage cardprogram filesphoto contactsphotocontacts.exe) but anyone work because he tell me that can't find "program" and the .dll files the reason is the first line that i write is composeb by

"storage cardprogram" and the rest of the path go dowm in 2 and 3 lines so the problem is put all the path in only 1 line.I try also put only the file name (photocontacts.exe ) but don't work every time he take me the same error.

there is a solution for this problem?

- Note the at the front.

or

"Storage CardProgram FilesPhoto Contactsphotocontact.exe"

- Note include speech marks and the at the front.

Not sure if these will work but worth a try. I also had the same three lines of text before i changed it but i worked for me!

...but now is born another problem : whit hold contact manager i can customize the ringtone for every contact using files .wav on my mmc card and modifing the register ok? Now that i change the contact manager whit a photo contact manager i can't customize nothing because this program don't support ringtone.Someone can help now? Exist a program that customize also the ringtone ( using the files no mmc or sd card ) ? Or there is a way to do this?

read this thread with some interest, i have photo contacts and thought this would be a good tweak. However, it didnt work and now i cannot get my contacts to display, it retursn an error message when i press the right soft key (contatcs default).

Have returned the backup value (formerly 1) as advised but the error message still displays. I have atathced some shots of my reg to see if these are different to any other E200 users.

Would like to default photo contacts to this contacts softkey, but i must still be doing something wrong?!!!

Any help would be much appreciated, if not only to get my contatcs to display when i press the right soft key.

It sounds really stupid but have you tried restarting the phone? You need to restart for changes to the reg to take effect.

You also seem to be missing a key! I have another key called 0 with the value data being "Contacts" less the speech marks.

Hi, I would like to add to the question:

How can I change the button to open call history? I tried referring 1 to the .lnk of my start menu and it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know the location of the file for call history or if it's opened from appman, what would the reference be?

Also, is it possible to change the button word "Contacts" to something else?

I write in Italian why me it is more comfortable:

dallo schermo principale inizi a comporre il numero o il nome di un contatto. Selezioni quello che ti serve, fai menu->apri e accedi al gestore contatti standard e da li puoi modificare i dati della persona.
