Deleting Files on Windows SPV

How can i delete files on my SPV? i played on it, have some files that need to erased. im running too low on memory.

please help! :shock:

Hi,

Which files you wana delete?

System files from root windows folder (Windows) cannot be deleted as they are part of the ROM.

Some files in IPSM can be deleted though (*.mpbs in MAPI, some useless *.lnks in Startup folder) but not the databases like the *.vol files.

You can use either SmartExplorer or PC ActiveSync to delete files.

There are alot atleast 12mb, i think they are useless. taking the memory so much!

Unfortunately those are Windows files...thus cannot be removed.

Yep and...

The file sizes are being reported to you incorrectly. They are not really 12mb in size, there was a thread about these files a looooong time ago but I can't find it now.

Hard reset will erase those?

anyway, i cannot do the hard resetting, is that works on Canary ver. 1.00?

It will remove them but they will come back when u receive sms/emails. Like i said, the file sizes are being reported incorrectly, think they are only about 10k each. Not sure tho, maybe someone someone could enlighten me? :?:

Nah. Hard Reset won't erase them for you.

You may modify some files but the phone will 're-generate' a new one after a reboot.
