New text message event sound & camera downloads?

Hi

I am a complete newbie and have not even bought an SPV yet although seriously thinking about it based on its specifications etc.

On the Orange Spv flash site it states that there is no event sound when you receive a text message! Is this true? Also it appears when using the camera attachment you can only send pictures to other photo compatable phones and cannot either download them to your PC to email to others or attach them to the emails you can send from the phone.

Is there any software that could allow me to do this?

I was going to buy the original SPV.

Lesson no. 2 - if you do get a SPV, throw away the instruction book and come here :D

There is a SMS notification sound when one is received.

Haven't used my original SPV for a while now, but it is possible to send photos to MMS. You can download them to your PC, but I think you need to buy a third party app to be able to send them via email on the SPV original.

But they are all possible!

1. You might want to think about getting the SPV E200 with the integrated camera and improved OS

2. There certainly is a choice of SMS notification sounds already built in but you can easily change this to whatever sound you want (.wav / .mid) by transferring via the supplied ActiveSync software from your PC.

3. ....which you can also use to transfer your photos. I'm pretty certain that you can email photo attachments from all Smartphones.

That has put my mind at rest! I currently have an aged Sony J5 which I love however wanted something better, and after considering the Sony Erikson T610, accidently came across the SPV! I already have 2 psion organisers, but they are a bit hefty and I like the idea of the SPV!

No doubt once I get my SPV I will be posting here on a regular basis!

Thanks for your reply also! I am on a bit of tight budget so have to stick with the original SPV for now, although I may upgrade in a year or so time when I have more cash!

I had a quick look at some of the sites offering software and there is an application which lets you email photos! That's great and there seems to be a lot of other software around!! I like the idea of the mobile with pda abilities and also looked at other similar phones but they don't seem to compare with this one. I can use my psion to send emails but they are not compatable with aol my isp and would need a phone for portability anyway. The SPV does it all it seems and with great style!

So Reiki energy on its way to you also if you would like some today!

This forum is very freindly and welcoming, I was a little worried due to the technical capabilities of the phone, so it is wonderful it has so much human support!!!
