Guest trewang Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 (mpx200 problem) so a friend of mine recently suffered the sim death... "sim failure" bull... wont work.. loads up but is really laggy, doesnt recognize sim card, freezes a lot... the phone basically is non functional.. it was an ebay phone and unlocked (with generic firmware) so im just wondering what course of action to take next with it... call motorola? how much would it cost fo replace/repair that stuff... and how can i check if there a warranty on it or not... the other option is to ebay it as a broken item.. but then it suffers a huge loss of value.. which sucks please advise thanks
Guest squall Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 could deff contact moto, and see what they say. repair is likely to be expensive. Let me know if you dont get it fixed, will offer a fair price !
Guest trewang Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 i cant seem to pm you, but if you could email me at [email protected], we can discuss possible prices? thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 If the phone is faulty then it's only good for spares. personally I would not pay more than £30 for spares but I would question if the phone is faulty or the has actually been blocked ie stolen etc. I would insist on a refund from the seller but make sure you get it before retuning the phone. ebay is renown for having stolen phones. As for contacing moto normally warranties are not tranferable but always worth a try.
