E200 - email sound notification - definitive answer please

Can someone give me the low down on this please. I have done a search and have posted before.Basically when I receive new mail, I get no notification sound. I know there is a bug if you are in your inbox, there is no sound, however, when I set the send/receive going, and return to my homescreen, I still get no notification.What is the point in the settings if this is not supposed to work ?!!

Dont know the answer to yours, but why have a phone with Bluetooth support that doesnt support ALL devices :D

Bugs, problems, and to me a poor phone that makes me not go for the E200

Just tried it out and no, it doesn't.

Then again, having got a notification sound when the SMS alert arrived (I'm using orange.net) I don't really want more noise when each email arrives in my Inbox.

Surely when you know the email is coming there's no need.

I think the originator is saying there is an option to allow this. So, they may have a valid point.

Your answer doesnt seem to inspire me, and probably not the originator of the post.

If the option is there, why does it not work? Regardless of what you want when you get an Email, its most likely different to another user who wants noise!

So the answer is?????? A bug? Ignore it? Put up with it? Buy a phone that does allow a notification when you get an Email :D

I've got a sound for email in Settings, but as I said, no joy.

I assume it's just a bug.

Surely not so bad you'd consider getting a new phone though ?

Have you guys got System Sounds set to Off in Profiles ?

Mine is so I wonder if you turn that on will it work ?
