Guest Kinsbane Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I'm wondering if there's a way of using the phone, via activesync, to act like a card reader for the PC? I wanna wipe the OEM SD card and use it for misc. data files for work and such, but I dont have an ordinary SD card reader. Everytime I open the file explorer on the i600, and go to the SD Card, it shows nothing (yes the card is inserted properly). Oh yeah, one last thing - is there a free IM app for the i600 that is able to IM with AOL's instant messenger? Thanks!
Guest ferret Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 You could try enabling "Show Hidden Files" on your PC. The phone does act as a card reader in a way, you can move, delete, copy & paste via Active Sync but you can't Format the card. Try Task Manager for that. Agile Messenger is freeware and it supports IM and AOL, can't comment on the app running on a i600 sorry.

Cool, thanks for the info! Those apps helped out quite a bit!
Guest rcnacura Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Just buy a separate card reader. www.tigerdirect.com has them for free. If you did use the samsung as a card reader it will be PAINFULLY slow.
