Guest SKIDD Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Hi I have a O2 XDA PPC2002 as well as an Orange SPV E100. I've managed to upgrade my O2 XDA to PPC2003 with a ROM update. Has anyone seen a similar update to take my Smartphone up to 2003? Thanks
Guest squall Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 cant really be done, and really not advisable. The original smartphone doesnt have enough memory, and there are issues with hardware drivers etc.
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 :!: Can be done but DON'T ! There is not enough memory on the E100 for the 2003 OS. You'd end up with a funky paperweight :D
Guest SKIDD Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Ok, thanks for your help. I suppose my best bet is to just upgrade to a new E200. Is there anything else coming out that'll shadow that? I'm not too keen on the "keyboard locked, but still allow disconnect call" thing. It really bugs me when I've locked my phone and it disconnects me from GPRS/Messenger when it goes in my pocket and catches the disconnect call button. I could really do with a decent flip phone, but aren't really that happy with the MPx200 either. Cheers again
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Right now, there's nothing better than the E200 IMHO. You could wait for the new Motos but then, how long you want to wait ?!
Guest squall Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 there are a few phones coming out, read through the news section - the details are all posted there. as for new flip smartphones there is rumoured to be a new version of the mpx200, but nothing official...
