Guest jhapos_13 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 im currently using spv e100 from smart telecom. globe just recently lunched its motorola mpx200 smart phone. i was thinking can i use the rom from mpx200 with my e100 so that ill be able to use my globe telecom locked spv? if yes, where can i get it? please
Guest Pondrew Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Sorry, it's not advisable to use different roms for the same phone from different operators, as for installing the Motorola MPX200 rom on a HTC Tanager (the manufacturer name of the E100), I'd be surprised if it was possible. Even if it was, you'd probably have too many problems for it to be worthwhile.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 It would not be possible as both phones have different bootloaders all you would achive is one nice paperweight.
Guest jhapos_13 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 my plan is to heve my sap working for globe telecom since it locked to smart at this point will unlocking it and using other rom for sap be advisable?
Guest Gorskar Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Theres a program floating around that will SIM unlock SPVs or SAPs with bootloaders below about version 1.10 or something I believe. If you do a search of Modaco you'll probably find it. Edit - found it. See here or here for the unlocker program, and This thread for a discussion on it.
