Hi

Just purchased pocket street from handango. Where do you install the extra maps that you download. Sorry for the silly question but new to all this smartphone stuff

i'm totally new to it too mate but i guess its got to go in the Pocket streets program files, have a look in the phone through active sync

Some other members of the forum will be able to give a more detailed answer

It only searches in the following directory

WM2003 StorageMy Documents or a sub directory

(Personally, I put mine in StorageMy DocumentsMaps

For Smartphone 2002 it's IPSMMy Documents

Quite surprised it doesn't search for maps on the SD card as some maps are pushing 2Mb!

Have downloaded some maps and they seem to be saved as medi player files is there a reason for this

Yep, the map files (*.mps), according to Windows are MPEG movie files for some strange reason. You could change the File Association under Folder Options in My Computer, but rest assured they open fine in Pocket Streets. The file association should be correct on the phone though. If not it might be worth downloading the latest version os Smart Explorer as this lets you change the phones file associations with out using messy registry tweaks.
