Guest sn328721 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I have converted the file from mpeg to the divx format and i got it from 150mb to 8mb with preserving quality and exactly in the way that it says on the FAQ Media Converting section. Is it because i am starting with a mpeg?? How the hell do i get it down to 160k
Guest siu99spj Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 See my PM back for one answer but for the rest of the forum: You can't. Simple fact of life that the clip I used was initially uncompressed and therefore HUGE. You're using an MPEG, which is already a pretty good compression. Trying to make it smaller will reduce the effects. Its kinda like trying to Zip an already Zipped file. The first time you compress the file, you get some pretty good compression. The next time you try, you don't get so much (If any). Movies are very similar, uncompressed videos can be greatly compressed at first (As mine was) but after one or two steps compression, it'll get increasingly more difficult to make them any smaller.
