E200 on Vodafone - How To help needed..

Hi

My first post, I've done a search & tried reading many topics but non seem to answer my questions, appologies if they've already been answered. :oops:

I've bought an ex Orange contract SPV E200 via Ebay & intend unlocking it so that I can use it on Vodafone UK. At the moment I have a Siemens S55 on Vodafone & will be using the Sim out of that. I have manually copied down as many settings as I can find for SMS,MMS & GPRS. Has anyone setup an E200 to access the Vodafone UK services & can they provide or point me in the direction of a simple step by step guide?

Secondly, in the About I have the following versions,

Smartphone 2003 Version 4.20.0(Build 13288)

Radio Version 1.09.00

Operator 1.1.1.4

Manufacturer 1.6.0.0

Microsoft 4.20.13288.0

Language 1.6.0.0

File System 4.20.13288.0

Can someone detail what all those are :shock: & if any of them require updates? I'm guessing that the operator is up-dateable from the Orange site to V 2.1.6.3 , but not sure?

I've got an Imate Smartphone which is the Australian E200. Voda works fine. Just plop in your sim and you'll find voda inc GPRS. For GPRS you'll need to config your data settings (Settings>more>data connections) under Internet by:

menu>edit connections>gprs connections>add>

connects to : the internet

access pint: internet

user: web

password: web

Hit done>done>home and then set up your email with your own settings and your away.

Thanks adambern, I'll give that a go once I've sim unlocked the phone at the weekend. Does the MMS & SMS work ok using this method :?:

SMS works fine. I've never bothered with MMS - it's far cheaper to send a pic etc via email.
