Guest AndersL Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Hi. I have bought a used Orange SPV E100 that originally was sold in Denmark but I'm now use it in Sweden on Vodafone. I have also unlocked it. The problem is when I have browsed around in some different websites and/or received mails after a few minutes the GPRS connection will be disconnected. The only way start the connection again is to reboot the phone. I have search in a lot of forums and websites for solve this problem but no answers. Are I'm alone with this problem or are there anybody who have experience of this? Rgds
Guest zeta101 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 go to settings then data connections then press the right softkey for options, then change the idle disconnect time to what you want.
Guest AndersL Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Sorry, but that didn't help. Time out is set to never. It's not a time out issue, because it's disconnected while I'm "browsing around"
Guest ferret Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Does it disconnect after the page has finished loading as for some reason if you set the idle disconnect to never this happens. Try setting it to the next biggest setting (the one down from Never).
Guest martin Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Sorry, but that didn't help. Time out is set to never. It's not a time out issue, because it's disconnected while I'm "browsing around" ferret is right. Never means that it NEVER has idle time and therefore the connection will be released as soon as data transfer ceases. You really want an idle time of say 5 or 10 minutes. This is the length of time the conenction will remain open when no data is tranferring (the idle time).
Guest AndersL Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Thanks for all help. There are just a little different, but still the same problem. The message on the display are this: Connecting... (2-3 sek) Finding site... (30-60 sek) alert The page you are looking for cannot be found.
Guest martin Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 The Access Point Name is valid because you can connect. Are you using a GPRS WAP (+proxy) service or a GPRS internet service ? It might be easier to help you if you were to post your settings and the page you are trying to access. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest AndersL Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Ok, the settingsa are: Access point: internet.vodafone.net User name: none Password: none Primary DNS: 217.174.65.65 Secondary DNS: 217.174.65.62 I'm using GPRS Internet ond NO WAP Network ROM = 1.6.1.10 Do you need more informations?
