Guest element Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I just tried to upgrade my SPV E200 using the software downloaded from orange. It found the phone and deleted the rom, but then when it did that, it said error 110, or something like that. And now when i start my phone up it says press any key to enter bootloader, then a red green and blue screen comes up. I've tried installed the rom 3 times with no success. what do i do??
Guest Vector Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Welcome to the site! ;) when the phone is in the red, green and blue screen, put it in the cradle, and run the update again :D
Guest element Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 have done, and have just done now, the upgrade stays on 0%, then i get error 113: update error, i've tried doing what it says which is taking the battery out, but it doesnt work
Guest squall Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 try downloading the rom again, it may have been corrupted
Guest martin Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Try re-bootiing the PC and using another USB port if possible. Also disable any PC security programs ie firewalls.
Guest element Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 rebooted, redownloaded, changed usb, still nothing works. the software seems to crash alot.......
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Your next option is to run the update on another PC this is normally the final solution. Just checking you did try running the E200 update and not the E100 1.6 update? Sounds stupid but got to check.
Guest element Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I did indeed. I got it from orange earlier
Guest element Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Got it working :D ;) I downloaded the swiss version of the rom update utility, took the actual program from that, and replaced the swiss rom with the uk rom, and it worked. thanks for all the help guys.
Guest sajdaman Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 wots the link to that page i had the same prob as u!!!!!!!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Swiss update for the E200 can be found here http://www.orange.ch/offers/orangePhones/s...s=1083347147735
Guest tompcs Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 the unpacked file has 4 elements, which is the rom part and which is the file that you actually swapped? Got it working :D ;) I downloaded the swiss version of the rom update utility, took the actual program from that, and replaced the swiss rom with the uk rom, and it worked. thanks for all the help guys.
Guest Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 have done, and have just done now, the upgrade stays on 0%, then i get error 113: update error, i've tried doing what it says which is taking the battery out, but it doesnt work This happened to me but when I re-ran the update it ran through fine. I noticed it had wiped the ROM though, as the second time it 'ROM version - NOTHING' to 'ROM version - 2.6.XXX'. What does the three colour screen mean? I.e - It had no idea what ROM version was in there.
Guest Pondrew Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 The three colour screen is the bootloader screen. The reason it said Rom: Nothing is as you said because the Rom had been completely deleted. SO, the device can still boot up but having no rom it has no operating system/instructions to run. Like in the old days when before we installed windows on our PCs they would start up but with no instructions/operating system they'd just sit doing nothing.
Guest Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Thanks That still happens though, well mostly with pc's.
Guest Central Scrutenizer Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 For the record. You need to replace the swiss nk.nbf file with the uk version. (the big 32MB mother) Then run the swiss update. I tried just installing the swiss update but got something like "err100. incorrect image for this country". Shame 'cos it looks like a newer version.
Guest elhornet Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Thanks for the info in this thread, I had the same problem tonight after picking up my SPV and deciding to run the update. The Swiss one with the replaced file worked fine. Orange support were rude, I figured I'd have more luck fixing it myself.....which is appears I did :)
