Guest HelloDave Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 OK, correct me if i'm wrong here. Call me stupid, but what the hell is the point of rebound? I've read the instructions that come with it, which seem to say "you move around the maze and throw the ball at anything you fancy". Apart from the controls being tricky because of the crap direction pad, which isn't the game's fault, it just seems a bit pointless! You move around the maze, throw the ball and then loose it for about half an hour during which time you can't hit anything so you have to stay still. I'm also stuck about halfway through the maze, so i assume i've missed a little button somewhere, but aiming the ball with the pad is tricky! Since the game is called "Rebound" i'm guessing there's some skill in it, or some way of playing the game that i'm totally missing - are you meant to send the ball off to hit as much as possible at once? Why couldn't Orange have given us a normal pinball game! If anyone's played it much and likes it - let me know what the secret is! I'd love something else to while away the time, as Tennis Addict is great, but most of the time you need to reboot the phone to give it enough memory to run, which is a pain until someone releases a task manager!
Guest muude Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I think it's quite fun. actually... Whn you've lost the ball, just hit fire and it will return... Once you get the hang of it, it's really not that tricky + there are some special levels like pinball...
Guest fcm Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I would rather play Tennis Addict full =)
Guest timodonnell Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 I have to say I agree - it's pants. I uninstalled it after a couple of days. Tim
Guest madu Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 I second that!! Uninstalled after 1 day! s*** game.. And YES, Pinball would be so f***g great on this phone - vertically stretched screen, two softkeys just where the bottom 2 bumpers are (or whatever they're called)... Add the possibility of playing tracks on your SD and unless it crashes all the time coz of mem. lack - it's a great game!! Go on Hexacto/O/MS/Somebody - get it sorted!!
Guest HelloDave Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 Well at least i'm not the only one then! Maybe they should install tennis Addict on all new phones, or Interstellar Flames - it's only £1! Only problem is you have to reset your phone each time you play it to get enough free memory but hey... Mmm, pinball... :D
Guest muude Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 The pinball thing is a part of Rebound.. I think its level 2 or 3 maybe, but its there in the game....
Guest Torque_79 Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 I agree. Rebound sucks bigtime. Havent really found any great games for the SPV, yet. Tennis Addict is quite good, though.
Guest chewie Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 Yeah i thought rebound was the biggest pile of shite ever! That free invasion game is good, if only it gave you more than one life, a continue or something!
Guest tdp Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 Hello All. Just got my phone. In the "Getting Started" maunal, it talks about Rebound being included with the phone. However, I did not get the game. It was not on the SD or the CD. Did any UK users get the game with their phone? I called Orange, and they sms'ed the URL for Handango to me. I know this seems to be a cheesy question, but I'm just curious. Thanks.
Guest kevlar Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 it should have been on your card, along with a few trial apps, and chemical brothers vids. Kevlar
Guest tdp Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 Thanks for the reply. I didn't get it. I got the Chemical Brothers vids though. Orange support state that not all SPV owners got the application. So, should I pay for the game - even though I should of had it anyway. Or is the game not worth the effort? Thanks again.
Guest pd.ryder Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 CERTAINLY DON'T BUY IT!! I've ended up going through 5 E100's and Orange finally upgraded me to E200 - cost me £15 each replacement (admin fee or summat) but after much heated discussion they refunded 4 of them. Anyway, the E200 came with another 8Mb SD card which had Rebound on it again. Send me a PM with your email. * edit by midnight... sorry, but even though this game is free, its still copyrighted, so no copying/distribution of this game without prior permission of Orange/IdeaWorks3D
Guest agent.m Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I think its not that bad. but then i dont play it that often. there are worse games (interstellar flames) seen rebound on free download on a few sites.
Guest Scarfman007 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Woah guys - talk about bringing a topic back from the graveyard! Still gives me that warm fuzzy feeling as I remember opening my SPV and Rebound (along with I.Flames) was the only decent game to play ... How things have moved on since then! Scarfman
Guest uzi_999 Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 wasup ppl? havent been ere in a long time!!! sorry bout that, im saying that Rebound is an ecxellent game. its one problem is that it ssslllooooowwwsss down too much
