Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I've installed something called TennisAddictDemo.exe on my SPV E200 (it runs throught eh setup screen on the computer, tried transferring it to phone but it won't run from there - access denied), and it's not on my phone. I can't find it in the start menu, in the games menu, in the accessories folder. I even went to Start>Settings>Remove Programs, but it's not there. I uninstalled from PC it said uninstalled successfully but my memory is still down. So then I started looking using Smart Explorer if I can find it anywhere, but no luck. I've even installed it again and it ate ANOTHER MegaByte! What's it doing? And, I've just realised, it's happened before with other applications, including that Theme Changer, Smart ICU, and this Tennis demo. Now my memory has gone from 13MB to 9.94MB so I'm losing memory each time I install :D What's going on? Where can I find my memory back, where's it gone? My phone is application-unlocked if that info is of any significance. Please help, thankyou ;) (I have posted here in hope of a greater response than I got here: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1082...9366c540a677aba )
Guest mavisdavis Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Have you tried to restarting the phone. My only thought is that when you delete a program or file they sit in temp folders waiting to flush when the device is rebooted. Other than that I cant think of anything alse mate sorry
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Yep tried that, practically searched everything using Smart Explorer, still can't find the files. :D Any other ideas anybody, or has anybody else experienced anything like this (you must have!)?
Guest martin Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Why don't you just use Smart Explorer to find the files. Highlight the IPSM directory and the use File-Properties to check the number of files total Mb. Double click IPSM and then do the same for all directories under IPSM. And so on... Doing this you should be able to trace the directory/files which contain the Mb's of information :D

Doing this you should be able to trace the directory/files which contain the Mb's of information :D I've done this, the Storage folder shows up as 12.97MB full, so this should be 30.33MB-12.97MB = 17MB, thus there should be 17MB free, although it's showing up as 9.8MB free. I believe that the files have been installed before the first screen of Smart Explorer - i.e. in the folder higher up than where you can see profiles Storage Storage Card Temp Windows Seriously, I've looked absolutely everywhere for these files, & I'm talking really thoroughly too, I have no idea where it's gone. Encrypted in the ROM? Is that possible? :?
Guest martin Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Have you also tried Windows Explorer with show hidden files ? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Have you also tried Windows Explorer with show hidden files ? Posted from my SmartPhone! tried that too (using the "Explore" feature on ActiveSync). Also, if anybody could let me knoe, if you do a hard reset but you have all the contacts saved on PC in Outlook, how do you put all these contacts onto the phone (rather than the ActiveSync delete it off your PC aswell)? Thanks.
Guest squall Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 in activesync options you can select replace on device, replace on phone or leave unresolved toolsoptionsrules
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 in activesync options you can select replace on device, replace on phone or leave unresolved toolsoptionsrules But that's if there's a conflict to be resolved, but there is no conflict here because items have not been changed in both the PC and phone. I've done quite a bit of testing with that option and all have the same result - the contact on the PC is deleted when I delete it from my phone and then sync. Does using categories have something to do with it?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Have a look in IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall the file could be hiding there. Moved to Help and Advice
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Have a look in IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall the file could be hiding there. Moved to Help and Advice Tried that. Has this not happened to anybody else ever before? Unbelievable! I don't know why, I mean it's happened with a few apps, not just one (ones that install from the PC mainly). Because of the way I unlocked? (Not over the air, but using that unlock-all thing).

Does using categories have something to do with it? It shouldn't delete from the pc if you hard reset because the file which keeps track of changes on the phone will be removed by the hard reset. When you sync after the hard reset it will be the first time the phone knows about the pc and it will sync all the contacts back onto the phone.
