PLEASE! Need help with IRC

I've been trying for three days to get onto IRC but have only been able to connect once. This includes CGI, Trillian and mIRC.

It just wont connect to the server.

Because this is happening on all three, I'm thinking it may be a problem with my ISP.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

the port has changed because of attacks or something :?

you now have to connect to port 7000 :D

so "irc.monolithix.org:7000" ;)

Yeah as david said you should change your port to 7000, and i managed to get on using dagger server

If you use mIRC type /server dagger.xnet.org:7000 or /server neon.xnet.org:7000

I think the port hs changed back to 6667 now :D

i connected via mirc at home, but i cant use that at uni, and trillians not connecting :S

i think myself its bad that the network just changes without letting people know , other irc networks normally give a notice that they are changing or moving something , i think its time smartphone searched for a new home as xnet sucks :) :lol: :lol:

I got an email from them a week or so ago saying they were having difficulties etc, and to change to 7000 :)

Ditto. And dont forget 6667-7000 is quoted as the range of ports for 99% of irc servers. Just because most clients aren't intelligent enough to pick up on the error and try another port isnt the network admins problem...
