Guest tsnet Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Hey guys, I currently have a Mio 8380 and I am getting an original SPV for my wife. On my car I use an old Ipaq I have with the Destinator GPS and it is such a great solution. So yesterday I loaded the Mapopolis GPS software on the Smartphone (Mio) and it looks very promising (and cool!). Now I want to get a serial GPS (like the Deluo or something else) and get a cable from somewhere on the web to hook up the serial GPS to the SPV (and later if I get the pinout for the cable to the Mio). I can tell you for sure the software works and works great, even in the small screen. Voice guidance is AMAZING for such a small device and although the software is still in beta it is great and I am sure the final version will be very good. Any comments on this GPS/SPV/Mio integration? Has anyone tried a GPS connected to the SPV? Thanks!
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Hi there I can confirm that you can use a Serial GPS with the SPV/SPV E100 (see this thread) I use it myself. As for the cables you will either need to modify them yourself or use an XDA GPS.
