WILL AN AT&T MPX200 WORK ON ORANGE UK AND O2????

hi,

im buying an american mpx200 on at&t and i was wondering if i could use it on o2 and orange in the uk. How would i do this? (i am already aware of wap settings.)

1. Has anyone done this and does anyone know if it will work? i have heard something about possible frequency issues etc.

2. Also, would i need any software to unlock it and where could i get this?

3. as im buying on at&t...there would be at&t splash screens, extra icons etc? if so...how could i get rid of these or replace with orange ones

If you unlock it, it should work as the phone is tri-band...

1, The AT&T mpx200 is dual-band enabled and not tri-band.

There is a leaked ROM around that apparently may enable the phone to become triband but there seems to be mixed responces to this.

2, No need to application unlock the phone as AT&T are not application locked.

3, Not possible unless Orange release an update for the mpx200

I also have AT&T mpx200 (unlocked) and the leak ROM which will make your phone triband but unsuccessfully use it in Asia countries which (Vietnam and HongKong and China). I saw the 900/1800 but I dont think it working at all or maybe i'm just doing something wrong. Please help if anyone know this problem. Thanks. I just dont want to spend money on another smartphone here. I really need smartphone to syn. all my contact on everyday basic.
