Hello people, i dunno if this question has been asked before, i cant find it.. but the SD/MMC slot, could Moto just not make a Bluetooth Dongle to slot into there, it wouldn't have to be very big.. almost the same as how a pci card works on he pc!!! is this not a good idea.. i mean i love my mpx200, and i can cope w/out a camera, cos i have a digi. that takes sd, so i just swap over, and i get awesome quality pics.. but Bluetooth.. i need you!

IS THIS POSSIBLE? :?:

The technology is there to have Bluetooth dongles using SD card slots if the device supports SD-IO. Or something.

I don't think the MPX200 has this though.

It is SDIO,

but you need drivers for bluetooth/wifi/sdcameras/whatever and there arn't any for smartphone2k2

but if the technology is there, then someone could just develop a driver for the phone.. if they got it signed, they could make a fortune out of this! no?

Smartphone 2002 will not support BT etc only 2003

can do this and MS do not have any plans to update 2002.

but if they did give us, or sell the new 2003 s/w, then surely they will make them a hell of a lot of cash!

Making new phones with 2003 will make more money :D

Its too bad that Smartphone 2002 will not support bluetooth. Just yesterday I purchased the Microsoft Bluetooth Optical Desktop (only $69.00 at Best Buy!! It was an open box deal). When I pulled out the dongle...guess what? There was a MINI plug on it! The base station uses the mini plug and they put in an adapter that converts the mini plug to a full size one if you prefer not using the base station. Of course I was thinking I MIGHT be able to make my phone bluetooth capable. Alas...I guess not.

When you say mini plug I presume you are refering to the

usb plug? If so was it a five or four pin plug as the mpx200 uses a five pin.

yeah, cos if they make this, then someone could just 'make' a bluetooth driver for the smartphone 2k2!!

it fits in the slot that houses the mini usb port! Any developers wanna give it a whirl? Posted from my SmartPhone!

yeah, i agree widnavec245..there must be a developer that can make a bluetooth driver for s/p2k2, i mean.. the e200 support b/t (i think) so is there not a 'file' in their that can be put on the mpx200-2k2.. come on people, instead of argueing.. 'no we cant do it, cos 2k2 doesnt support it'.. make it support it.. geez, its just like a mini pc, and we do al sorts of things to that.. god forbid, some of us dont even run windows!! WOW, yes.. we do exist!

come on guys.. give it a try

It is physically not possible without MS building the core components in the OS.
