Hi,

I have just bought a spv smartphone and have unlocked it so that it will take my t-mobile sim card - I can make calls but cannot connect to the internet.

I am trying to software unlock my phone but cannot seem to find a download that enables me to do it without connecting to the internet.

If anybody can help with either of my problems you will be my hero! :D

Welcome to the site :D

With the SPV you can decert it by using passthrough option.

Go to SettingData Connections then change Internet Connections to Passthrough. Now in Explorer go to MenuOptionsConnections and uncheck Automatically detect settings.

Now when your phone is connected to your pc you can connect to the internet on the phone via the pc connection.

Once you have done this you can still use the OTA application unlock at the Orange Developers site.

I'm not sure about Tmobile but normally you have to have GPRS enabled to use the internet on the phone. A call to Tmobile and ask them to enable it should sort this out for you.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, i have now managed to software unlock my phone, but i still can't use it to connect to the internet.

I phoned t-mobile and they said that they didn't support the phone cos' it was orange, I have the relevant t-mobile info. like the accesspoint and ip address etc and have input it into the phone but it still won't work.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Have you asked T-Mobile to enable GPRS data on your account?

Anna

You can find the Tmobile settings in the GPRS settings repository (top of page nine I think)

They should work OK :D
