Shipping with Smartphone 2003?

First off... hello! (my first post)

Second... I've been looking at the Motorola MPx200, I should be getting it soon. But when I've been searching online for news, reviews, and customization (thats how I found modaco!) I saw some mention that the MPx200 is shipping with Smartphone 2003 installed. Can anyone confirm this? It didn't say whether it was the upgraded ROM or not, just that Smartphone 2003 was installed on the device.

I've been seaching for the news post to link it here for everyone, but all I can find is the ROM upgrade story again.

Side note, another search showed Smartphone 2003 SE was nearly done. Maybe that's upgrades haven't been announced yet?

As far as I know the MPX200 only comes with 2002, there is

a 2003 update which some lucky people have (mainly developers)
