Hi Guys

I'm using version 3.7 on my main PC at home and have been using that as my master copy Outlook with contacts, tasks and calendar being synchronised.

However, I have since moved my Outlook pst file to my laptop, which hasn't been set up to sync yet.

In the meantime, I have changed contacts and appointments on my handset and on my laptop.

My question is this:

When I set up active sync on my laptop, I want to ensure that none of the task, calendar or contact changes are lost ... from either the outlook on the laptop or on my handset.

How can I ensure this happens, what steps do i need to take. The reason I ask is that I recall that when I rebuilt my pc and re-synced last time, I lost some info and changes.

Cheers

Andre

You can set up two computers to sync your phone. When you load activesync onto your laptop and connect your phone, you should get a box which says that you havnt snyced with this laptop before and do you want to use same settings as your pc. You say yes and hey presto you can sync with your laptop as well, what will happen is another box will come up after the main active sync screen and ask whether you want to merge info like contacts etc with the phone and laptop or overide you decide, but you will get the prompts before any transfer happens. I suggest merge information and delete duplicate entries, this should reduce the risks of losing data.

good luck, just follow the prompts once you connect your phone, dont forget to load active sync onto your laptop first.
