Guest solitude Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 How do I change that? I think I read somewhere that the MPX200 has a auto-off feature when the battery gets below a certain percentage. How do I disable it? Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but could not find it again.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 All the smartphones have this, without it you risk the phone doing a partial reset or corrupting files.
Guest solitude Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Erm but isn't there any way to change the percentage in which the phone will auto-off itself?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 None that I am aware of, as I said it's a safety feature to protect the phone. There is a battery timeout in the registry but I would advise that you do not play with it. What is the point of screwing up the phone just to get a small boost in phone life :?
Guest beersoft Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 from my extenive testing of the mpx battery, when the phone turns its self off at 3% you can't do that much with it anyway - media player stops at 15%, calls get very flakey at < 8% best case you will have 8 mins of power with the backlight on, or an hour with the lid closed and it doing nothing later Owen
Guest phonesmarts Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Maybe you should post or list the results of your tests in a text file for us to view. we (or I) would really like to know what #s people are getting. or, on average, the minutes/percentage ratio. it seems that, for me, i get about 1 hour for every 13%.

The last I remembered, I still had 2 bars of battery (before going to sit for a 1h 30mins exam). When I finished my exam, I took out my phone and "HEY! WTF how come it OFF itself?" I attempted to turn on the phone but it stopped at the "SmartPhone 2002" screen and offed itself.
Guest broeren79 Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 personally i would not like to boost battery life, but shorten it. I have had several times that my spv powered of itself, resulting in a hang-up at startup screen or partiasl reset. where can this be changed?
Guest beersoft Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 ok, this problem got my little brain working again :) im currently testing a new version of my battery monitor app, which now logs to a CSV file time running current power time running at current power the next % point down (because my phone is mental and the power goes up and down like $insertrudecoment) as long as my testing goes well over the next 12 - 24 hours i'll stick the app here on modaco for you all to play with. if you want to beta test send me a pm  (EDIT: or find me on #smartphone) later Owen
