Guest mrpants Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Has anyone actually got a bluetooth headset that works to the full range it should? I'm on my second different headset (now on a Jabra BT200) and I can't use it more than a couple of feet away from the handset, or in my pocket - the call breaks up/distorts badly. The same headset works perfectly with a nokia 6600 so I know it's not the headset. I can return the SPV under the 14 day money back but having had an SPV,SPVE100 previously I'll miss it in some respects.
Guest Thurstan Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Nope I'm afraid the e200 is crap when it comes to that
Guest mrpants Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 It's not just crap, it's virtually unusable - I've tried another E200 and it was the same again...If all the E200's are like this then how did it get past they quality testing stage?
Guest jarm Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 I am getting at least 20ft using a Jabra bt200 headset. Also have bluejacked sucessfully upto about 25 - 30ft range.

Guest jarm Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 yep E200 phone ,jabra Bt200 headset, and line of sight. Also transmitted audio and video from my desktop over same range.
Guest Taoski Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Can you Bluejack with an E200? I assumed that cos it runs via Smaprtphone software - it would'nt be able to do it properly to other mobiles - Nokia etc...?
Guest jarm Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 i have managed to do it using the send a contact method Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest ajb3000 Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Bluejacking works fine on the e200, in fact last night in weatherspoons I did a bluetooth search and 9 phones came up, sent a picture of my mate rat assed sucking beer off a dildo to a couple of them, and within about 10 minutes 5 people came up to us saying the pic is going all round the pub. Oh the fun. Also I have a Plantronics M3000, and it works perfectly within about 4 to 5 metres (line of sight), and almost works perfectly with it in my pocket (occasional crackle).

Guest t12345uk Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Back to the original topic. I have a Sony Ericsson HBH65 headset and I too cant use it on the E200 whilst its say in my jacket pocket..... this is kinda the whole point of having a headset so you dont have to hold the damn fone. If the bluetooth range works fine for other applications then its fairly safe to assume that the headset profile usage thingie has a setting which reduces the amount of power the bluetooth transmitter uses in the assumption that the fone will be close to the headset and therefore doesnt require much therefore increasing battery life. Well battery life I'll recharge it. Can someone find out if its possible to hack the registery to enable more range on the bluetooth in headset communications by increase the power output to the bluetooth transmitter. Does that make sense to anyone?
