Guest idavid Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 i caved in and got myself a nice shiny mpx200, which i am very pleased with. great build quality, fantastic screen and responsiveness! but one little issue... am i right in presuming the cradle can only be connected to a computer OR the mains? this strikes me as being a bit silly. its great to have the phone sitting in its cradle when i am activesyncing, but if i get home late and cant be bothered to turn on my computer the cradle cant charge it up and i have to plug it into the cord, like a normal phone! any work around?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 The phone will chardge through the PC when it is connected. It's a sync and charge cable as such :)
Guest stevo316 Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 yeah, even when my comp is turned off.. sometimes the little red light comes on the cradle, even if the phone is not in it.. if the red light is on, u can charge your phone! ive had my phone for 4 months ot(mpx200) and ive never used the mains charger to date!
Guest stevo316 Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 just 1 thing i was worried about.. i hear if u charge your fone too much, then the battery will get knackered quick!! is this true, cos my fone likes to sit in the cradle quite a lot, because it means that it is not one the table.. getting scratches all over it!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 No, the battery is designed to last a year. Li-ion batteries prefer being charged often and they do not suffer from memory loss as much as Ni-cd are known to.
