hi

can't install PocketMVP 8R or the original Pocket MVP as linked to from Malloc site.

phone says:

"Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." etc

you need to decertify your phone (as know as application unlock). Go here >>>OTA<<< and go to the link in the first post

cheers, but it doesn't recognise my IMEI and my o2 GPRS doesn't work, even according to the settings here.

it's o2 Pay&Go and those seem to be the settings for contract, pay and go gprs settings are here but these don't work either.

as a third option i tried straightforward dial-up with virgin, but it wasn't to be.

You can use your PC internet connection :)

On the SPV goto Settings-Data connections and set 'Internet connection: Pass through' and then make sure your PC modem is active and that the phone is connected to the USB.

Now your SPV can surf the internet using the PC modem.

Now try the OTA unlock from the PC :lol:

Oh and if it doesn't recognise your IMEI you have to download the action register program from the site.

success! (well, nearly)

i've got the "you'll receive a message in 5 minutes" page off orange, managed to make gprs work from the settings here.

perhaps these should go in that big list, they worked over the others (which were for contract)
