Is it possible to use this number with my original SPV?

it is an 0845 number, specifically for mobile access what are the charges for this number (through orange UK network)

I can also get a reduced rate unmetered dial-up 0808 with my ADSL account. Would I be able to use the 0808 number on my mobile?

what are the charges (if any) that orange have, if it is possible?

The reason I am looking into this is because GPRS on orange UK network is a pile of [insert bad word here]

It would be fine for days on end, and then become patchy for a couple of days, and then not work at all! down as I type this.

I think that it may be the 'stuck on dialing' scenario that I have read on these forums.

You have missed the point, and not understood me :)

I know that ADSL is not GPRS.

I never mentioned using ADSL on my mobile (its impossible)

It is that my ADSL ISP that also has the additional optional extra for me use a dial-up connection.

so instead of using gprs, can i set my mobile to dial-up (not use ADSL) to access the internet?

Does anybody know what charges orange UK charge for using dial-up data access numbers?(if any)

The charges for GSM data calls will depend on your existing tariff (ie Talk x, Everyday 50, etc) and then you most confirm both peak and off-peak rates for the data calls.

Call Orange CS as they will have it on their computer.
