Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 What happened to me is I drained my battery, then I tried switching the phone on, it didn't come on. Then I removed the battery and then replaced it. I went to charge it on my PC cradle (doesn't have the AC charger connected, but PC is on) but it wouldn't charge. The red LED would flash for a moment but nothing happened. I removed and replaced it probably about 10 times, nothing happened. I came onto this forum and was reading some thing, while panicking, literally, I had to go to the toilet, my hands had become really cold colour, I was really pacniking. On the forum I read that somebody had put their phone onto an AC charger instead of the cradle so I tried this, this time the light stayed a constant red. Then, it went orange, making me calm down sooooo much. It powered up as normal :) I'm still shakey inside after that ordeal. So, tip is don't remove battery when flat, before charging.
Guest Vector Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Or don't let the battery get that low, you can permanently damage the battery letting it completely drain :)
Guest Pondrew Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Don't worry Toyota-F1.com. Same happened to me a month or so back. Similarly it wouldn't recharge nor power on unless I used the AC power supply. Only thing I can think is that the AC power supply must supply more power and so manages to 'jump start' the empty battery making it accept the charge.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 This may a bit over the top for what we need but everyone may find this usefull. How to prolong lithium-based batteries
Guest badboy4life Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 I think the other thing is the USB cradle doesn't supply a high enough current for the phone to charge as a AC adapter does and so I presume when it was flat it didn't have enough current to even begin charging.

Guest dinsey Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Dont you guys plug the ac into the cradle and leave the usb cable in the pc? That way charges with pc off.
Guest Pondrew Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Really?! Would never have guess that!!! :)
Guest Pondrew Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Seriously though dude, I'm unfortunately running low on plugs at the mo, my extension plank is used up (I have to unplug my monitor or speakers to recharge with the PC off).
