Guest calvin03 Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 anyone here knows the actual storage for the mpx200 ? i've seen a few pictures shows that some mpx has 8mb storage... but mine only has 6mb .. hmmm ... weird ..
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Best app to install is Task Manager from www.Binarys.com This is the best way to view your memory status on the phone and storage card. For example I have 10.29MB on my IPSM storage but only 6.28 free.
Guest idavid Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 awarner. why is my IPSM so full? i just got my phone and have installed nothing to phone. is there anything i can bin in there?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 First thing I did was to Hard Reset my mpx200 to remove all the preinstalled apps. Once that has been done you can then reinstall from the cd and place them on the SD card instead. The only app you cannot place on the card is the jmms app, If you do you will have SMS problems. Also I did not install the jmms as it temds to slow the phone down and I do not send or recieve mms.
Guest idavid Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 there was almost a MB of background images already installed!!!
Guest calvin03 Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 but it looks very weird on my phone .. Memory Info: Total Memory : 28.21MB Program Memory Used : 17.66MB Used : 7.51MB Free : 10.16MB Storage Memory : 10.55MB Used : 441.78KB Free : 10.12MB Flash Info: Device Storage : 6.20MB Used : 4.72MB Free : 1.48MB I've checked the programs I installed..but none of them could take that much out of it
Guest calvin03 Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 and one more thing... how do i hard reset the phone??? i've tried every method that has been posted on the net.. but none seems to work... anyone here knows the exact way to hard reset the phone. ?
Guest scott2eyes Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 To hard reset, hold down the blue Action button while turning the phone on. Click on the words >> Hard Reset << for more info. As for your storage space- bear in mind that your phone also has it's operating system installed; I presume this is what's taking up the majority of the 7.5 meg. If you've got 10 meg free, I really wouldn't worry about it- my MPx200 has 2.75Mb free at the moment and it gives me no problems. I would recommend getting a decent sized storage card though (I find 128Mb is more than enough)- particularly if you want to use your phone for music and videos.
