Have found this site very helpful with my previous requests for help so here is another.

Have bought an SD card and have transfered a number of .wavfiles to it but when i go into settings to try and assign them they dont appear. But if I go into the sound manager they are all there.

Anyone got a clue how i can assign them to various tasks such as ringtone and sms sound?

For general sounds there is the excellent SmarTweak

As for your general question, for wav files on the storage

card to appear in settings, they have to be in the My Documents folder.

Hi, :)

Using ActiveSync, open Storage Card folder, create a New folder then name it 'My Documents'

You can also create new folders with SmartExplorer application...but you need to download then install the app first.

Finally, transfer your wav files to the My Documents folder.

Im using Orange ROM and I had this decertified first to disable security.

I don't set my ring tones from the Settings-Sounds panel. I use third party application instead.

Try the latest version of Caller2Picture software. You can assign custom ring tones to each contact...even if the wav files are stored in your SD.

Have a look at www.smartphone.net or handango.com

Orange Decert?-- I think there is already a thread here discussing that topic. Kindly use the --> Search <-- button.

If you are using the Orange OTA, Then make sure you have an open GPRS Connection when you press submit on the form..

eg. Open Pocket Internet Explorer and browse to a site so you have the connection open and then press submit to the form where you fill in Phone number IMEI etc.. :)

The IPSM mention is the clue here.

You can't use tones on the storage card if you've got a SP2002 phone (SPV Original, E100, MPx200 etc) unless you install 3rd party software, eg: Jeyo Personaliser or Smart Tones (formerly known as ChangerSonneries)
