Guest jbrare Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Hi All, Can anyone check this on their Orange SPV E200, could be another bug or might just be my bloody fone again!! When capturing a still image with the "Review captured image" setting ticked on and the resolution of the image in either 160x120 or 320x240 (DONT use 640x480!) the review image will work ok for the first pic 99% of the time but on the second image onwards it either goes back to the homepage after taking the image most of the time or it will simply open Multimedia album and show thumbnails. Mostly it just goes back to the homepage. The pictures takes and save ok but just won't review correctly. When set to 640x480 the review function works perfect every time, don't understand why! Im using the latest UK Orange Update 2.6.1.3. Any ideas, is it happening to your phone?? Cheers every1 JB
Guest element Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Hey jbrare I have an E200, I just tried this now with both 160x120, and 320x240. Took about 7 photos on each setting, the picture taken DOES get shown each time. I also have the latest orange uk update...
Guest jbrare Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Cheers Element! Might be some software I've installed. Cheers for trying this out for me. Jb
Guest jbrare Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Just an update to this thread, If you take a still image in any resolution and in quite good light, there is no problem with the review image. If you take a pic in VERY low light it sends you back to the homescreen or just simply opens thumbnail view of multimedia album. Noticed this when I had the camera facing down on the desk when I pressed the capture button by mistake, investigated it further and found out that the problems with review image remain in low light but works perfect in quite well lit areas. Could anyone try their E200 in this way and see if it's a common problem?? Cheers guys JB
Guest ferret Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 I've noticed this too  Glad I'm not the only one. It's really embarrassing when you're showing off the phone in a pub or similar. However when the preview crashes back to the homescreen, if I kill the Photo Album and reopen it, the picture is usually there.
Guest jbrare Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Thats the same on mine. The pics always save but like you say it's a bit embarrassing when it crashes back to the homescreen. I can't even see any technical reason it should be ok in reasonable light conditions but fail so badly in poor light!?! Any techie people out there who can shed some light on this? Cheers Ferret by the way for confirming this issue for me. JB
Guest element Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Tried this, doesnt happen with me though.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Sounds like it does not have enough physical memory free :? Have you tried closing all apps etc running in the background.
Guest schaggo Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Intriguing... after 5 months this bug is still there. I have the latest Qtek Rom 1.9.14.1, IA Camera 2.0.14256 and the camera application really crashes when taking pictures in the dark on any other resolution than 640x480... not possible... :?: :!: :?:
