Hi,

I am quite new and this is my first post as i only recently got my spv e200. I am making a homescreen/theme in the windows style (like Longhorn etc.) and i got the idea of xml pretty quick. however i can never get the images to act as shortcuts to windows media player etc.? This also happens when using the Longhorn theme it just skips that section of the homescreen, so any help? thanks (i have looked through for help but couldn't find any)

Hello! Welcome to Modaco!

I don't really understand your question!? But there is a fairly comprehensive e200 plugin 'how to' available with my Cobalt homescreen click here. Although, it's more aimed at custom icons for linking to applications. If you click the word plugin, it'll take you to the best description of homescreen plugins & how they work.

If your homescreen is skipping over the part of the screen for the media player plugin, it sounds as if you haven't actually got the plugin installed. The media player plugin is sperate from the standard ones. You can download it from this forum.

If you look at the xml from one of my e200 themes, you'll see in there how to create icons linked directly to apps.

Hope that helps a bit! :) Let us know if you're still stuck!

Hi,

I am still stuck!!! i want to link images to different apps, because i am creating a homescreen with the start type bar, like others have done, so i want to be able to link an image so that it appears your selecting it from the bar if you know what i mean, like they have done with longhorn etc. However although they have the images for these items in the longhorn home screen i cant see them when i apply it, it just skips the whole section!!! does this make it clearer :? ? thanks (by the way your homescreen is good)

I don't know what you mean about images linked to different apps? The only things on a homescreen that can possibly be linked to apps are icons. The images in a homescreen are attached to the plugins. Are you talking about the longhorn screen by ChrisJM and Vector?

Yeah im talking about the Longhorn theme style. In the Rjshortcut in the readme it says you can attach a gif as the icon which is kind of what i want to do i guess, but i would want it to be full screen so that it appears your selecting the app from the start menu, like the Longhorn homescreen.

By the way I mean the Longhorn and win xp homescreens by Richie M.

so, what you want is 1 icon per screen, yeah? i have never used rjshortcuts plugin, but it should be simple to assign 1 icon per app, but make the plugin 200 height for each screen. Posted from my SmartPhone!

Well kinda I guess, i basically want these sections to work: (this is from the Longhorn one)

but on my phone (SPV E200) it just skips this for some reason? so this is what i want to work.
