Guest RobPowell Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Okay I hate my mpx200 LOL (always blame your tools when you are too ignorant to know the truth) okay, I had used 9 out of 10.29mb of my IPSM flash storage (I have no idea what on) and tried to install a game. It said not enough space but I clicked okay by accident (thinking it'd give the option to install to my SD card instead). The card is now full, and cannot find the game to delete again. What folders can I safely delete the contents of to free up space?? Many thanks in advance
Guest abatis Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Iwould check /ispm/windows/my documents for extra sfuff and /programs and see if that nasty game is in there. just delete it. Using it connected via with active sync and explorer is probably the easiest way to look around. Also using a good backup program like Sprite before you load new stuff is adviseable. You can run the restore file from the sd card and get your phone right back to where it was before you mucked it up. It has saved me much time not having to reload everything even after a hard reset.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 You could have a failed install, have a look in IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall and delete what you find there. Also check your SMS, have you got a lot of SMS in the deleted folder? You can also delete the contents of the IPSMMAPI folder this contains your sent SMS and emails.
Guest phonesmarts Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 or to save lots of time, just to a hard reset. (hope the stuff is backed up!) :)
Guest RobPowell Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 yeah I did have loads in the deleted folder, didn't realise I had those folders!! only thing that annoys me with sms is that if you write a huge text and it fails to send, it disappears and you can't just try to resend it  That and the fact it doesn't seem to like when another network drops the 0 and puts on 44, the name doesn't come up from my phone book!! bugger... thanks for the advice!! and phonesmarts, nice option but don't wanna lose the rest of the stuff!! :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 The phone as standard uses the +44 format you need to convert your contacts to this. Click on Contact Reformatter for the app that does this for you. When you have a failed send on an SMS the message goes to Sent Items folder.
Guest scott2eyes Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 yeah I did have loads in the deleted folder, didn't realise I had those folders!! only thing that annoys me with sms is that if you write a huge text and it fails to send, it disappears and you can't just try to resend it :) Odd- mine either saves them in the Drafts or Sent Items folder...
Guest RobPowell Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 contact reformatter has a dead link and I don't have outlook installed :) scott, I am thinking its reset time
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Best to install Outlook as it is one of the key features of the phone. Try www.monolithix.org for the reformatter instead (called Outlook Tools)
