Guest kongee Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 i dont know what i did to it but when i open the flip, the screen says: On top: Sim Failure "The phone is in Airplane mode. turn off airplane mode and try again." I have to enter a pin ..the max is 8 digits. Anyone have any idea how to fix this. i cant press anything else except digits. Need help ASAP...thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Power off the phone, remove the battery and see if the SIM is bing held in correctly and the two small plastic lugs have not broken. If the lugs are broken place a folded piece of paper between the battery and SIM and restart the phone.
Guest kongee Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 i did that already..still doesnt work...do i have to do a master reset? whats the difference with master reset and hard reset?
Guest abdllatif Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 I also have a problem like that. It seems that it is coming back more often as well. Sometimes my phone says simcard failure, and it doesn't do anything after that. I can reset the phone (turn it on and of) and it will work again. It may work some days, or it can display the same thing the same day again. It is annoying since you are also not reachable. I have mpx200 2002
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Have a look at the SIM holder if you have one of the older models there are two small lugs that have a bad habbit of braking off. This can cause the problems you are having, and a simple fix can be to place a piece of paper between the SIM and the battery.
Guest abdllatif Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Thx but no, I read your topic somewhere and I already had a look. Nothing broke in my phone.
