E200 smells a bit, wait for the MPX100, what about a pocket PC phone now?

:)

Get E200 now if you really want it :)

otherwise wait for MPx100/220

Gotta be the next generation of Smartphones if you ask me... Wait

I say get both (although my initial reaction was wait for MPX100). The E200 IS a worthy successor to the SPV/SPV E100.

id wait for the mpx100 or mpx220, infact thats what im doing, contract ends sometime this summer, hopefully the same time as mpxs appear

If you want a phone now, I'd get the p900 which I think is a fantastic phone. Windows smartphones I think will surpass Symbian, but only when the better phones arrive that are more stable than the HTC ones.

Like the Motorola MPx200? :) Seriously Beersoft, you gotta wait for the next generation!

get an e200 man! what could be a better way to spend your day than constantly switching your phone on-off coz its frozen, popping out-in the sd card coz it wont recognise, charging your battery every 4 hours, oh, & of course spending every fone call saying 'what, speak up'. Posted from my really reliable SmartPhone!

Beery - in exactly the same situation. Contract up in a week, increasingly pissed off with my E100, want a smartphone and want a new one NOW!!!

The E200 doesn't cure any problems - it just comes with its own set. And f*** that, I can't be bothered waiting for HTC to get its act together.

So as rare as it is for me, I'm playing the waiting game!

The kewl things I will do with my upgrade are as follows...: 1) Use the Bluetooth support to enable my SD I/O BT card to crash through Starbucks gateways to wreak havoc with Java drinkers (and users) 2) use the increased media format choices in WMP to steal then listen/watch to music/movies while performing #1 and 3) realize my dreams of global economic dominion via smartphone technology....P.s. No, not really! 8D My phone is already cool and the upgrade will only make it marginally cooler. The real upgrade will be when the hardware manufacturers create the SD I/O peripherals i.e. Gps, fm/tv, BT, Wi-Fi, and cameras and such. Until then... -MalKiE

Nonsense. The self resets, stuck in headset profile, and slow response time problems were all solved.

You say not to make this isn't a the e200 suck/rocks thread then start coming out with it yourself!

True the e200 has a whole set of new problems but don't try and suggest it didn't improve upon the SPV/E100.

Point taken, but rather that to enter into the whole E200 debate, I simply stated that as many problems as the E200 has solved, it has introduced an equal amount.

In my opinion, it should be completely side-stepped.

I'm well excited at the new Qtek 8060 (HTC Charlotte?) as I actually like the old Canary styling and directional pad.

Things may be quiet at the mo but at least we've got at least three manufacturers confirmed to be releasing new devices in the next 6months. The more competition the better!

Guest morpheus2702

But how does the Charlotte advance the Smartphone art one iota?

It's a job-lot of HTC overstock!

Actually its a different case to the Orginal SPV---much higher quality for a start, will run the same software as the E200 tho.

It is basically an E200 its just a matter of taste in styling which one you choose, only two differences really:-

its very slightly smaller

has an 8way pad rather that a 4way joystick

personally i prefer pads so would go with the charlottle device over the Voyager (E200) --Still wouldent get either if i was in beerys situation, wait and get the MPX100 and the sagem :-D

Guest morpheus2702

This is just semantics! It's a E200 in a look-a-like SPV shell for Christsakes!

Great if the SPV was the best smartphone design ever but it wasn't - the E100 was better and that got stuffed with a 'better' OS to make the E200!

So unless you like cramped fingers when texting, tell me how the Charlotte is something to look forward to?!?

Guest Brody

The Charlotee has a bigger keypad and a joypad which is preferred by most i think?

Guest Pondrew

I got that impression too Brody.

Still, can't please everyone I guess :?

Guest morpheus2702

Sorry, I heard too many 'hoorays' when the E100 was announed to believe that the Charlotte is ANY advance. Still, it seems to please someone... :?

Guest beersoft

this isn't an easy choice to make

i can't wait to get a 2k3 device but the flashing led/crap build/crap firmares support/it being made by HTC puts me off the E200, but the vague release date for the MPx100/220

i think i might just spend another month in a drunken stupor while orange makes its mind up
