Guest mike_m Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 I've just upgraded an old Siemens S55 phone and got the SPV E200. I was looking forward to receiving it, but things soon turned a bit sour. I receieved the phone on Monday and soon discovered the battery life was c**p. I reckon with a few phone calls, a bit of internet browsing and texting I would probably use the battery up most days. I like to think of a phone as something you charge once or maybe twice a week. Anyway, I have an IPAQ 3970 which I really love - if only it had phone functionality... So I bought an XDA II from eBay yesterday (and received it yesterday). I'm impressed so far. I reckon the battery is still not great but will last longer than the SPV E200 and I can always carry a spare with me. As for how I use the phone, it's mostly texting and some internet and only a few calls - so the form factor is OK as well. Regards, Mike
Guest Johnbe Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 I can live with the low battery life - charging it every night is a routine now, and with the latest rom flash I can just about get 2 days out of it. I love the activesync stuff, syncing with my exchange server. The bluetooth stuff is pretty funky too; still trying to get the best out of it but being able to sit watching telly 10-15ft away from the PC, and send/receive mails is really good. But the t9 shortcomings are bl**dy irritating. Shame Orange missed out on an opportunity to make a real quality phone; I certainly wouldn't recommend it to a friend (despite the fact I do love some of its features).
Guest squall Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 my xda2 lasts 3 days + im not using it at the moment, its been in standby for over a week with flightmode on and its still got loads of battery. Its a good phone, would recommend a bluetooth headset to make it usable though
