What codec is needed to play SPV E200 AVIs on a PC?

I ask as I can't play back videos created on my phone back on my pc?

The sound works for about 2 seconds and then it just skips to the end, the picture doesn't appear at all.

Surely it doesn't use the DivX codec when you record using the video recorder. I'd be surprised if Microsoft would use that???

I do have it installed btw but it may need re-installing.

Cheers Zeta.

Through that link I tried QuickTime which plays them fine, the funny thing is according to a program called G-Spot (which analyzes video files and tells you what codec you need) says I have two codecs for this file format.

Windows Media Player 9 can't play the file.

It's a pity I can't rename them to .mov as that way I could just double click on them but if I do QuickTime can no longer open them. I don't want to set AVIs to QuickTime as most of the time I use Windows Media Player 6.4 to open them.

I tried installing the trial M-JPEG codec but it made no difference.
