Guest Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Sorry if this has already been discussed but it seems many people are using WAVE files or Midi files as their ring tone without realising WMAs also work fine. I saved 5Mb of Wave ring tones down to 801Kb, they sound the same as the original wave file too. Therefore saving you disk space on your SPV.
Guest Simon Desser Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 This only applies to E200's, not SPV's, E100's mpx200's etc. I think MOST people who've got E200's (and have "got into it") realise that they can use WMA's as ringtones. All the people using wavs are probably not E200 owners :?:
Guest Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Sorry my bad I forgot to say I have an E200. What file formats does the older SPV models support? Just Wave (uncompressed only right?) or Midi.
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 But .wma can't be used for notification tones i.e. text alert :) Unless I'm wrong... :?:
Guest Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 You're right I found this out the other day it only works for Ring tones which IMO has to be a bug (of sorts). It basically means you have to have both WMAs and WAVES on your phone actually taking more space up. I'd like to use a WMA for my alarm clock so instead have this one saved as a WAVE and the rest WMA.
