Tuesday last week:

Call Orange - no sir... please call back on Saturday when your contract runs out - you can have a Nokia, a Nokia or a Sagem. :? E200=£100 TREO600=£200

Sunday:

Called Orange - upgrade to E200 still £100. I could up my contract for 1 month and get the E200 for free and then downgrade again. The bloke advised me to call back on Monday to speak to Retentions who would offer me something he was not authorised to :)

Monday:

Called Orange - E200 still £100.

Put through to retentions - put on hold........

"Thankyou taoski - we have now cancelled your contract."

No attempt to try to keep me or nothing! Doh. Crap. It's all backfired on me. They did'nt even ask me why i wanted to leave!

Well... i did'nt exactly jam the network with calls or texts.

They will be sending me a letter soon as my contract runs until the 16th of next month. Maybe i will get the chance to cancel the cancellation.

We shall see..... other than that - i guess i'll be keeping and unlocking my SPV and selling on eBay towards an MPX100 when they arrive.

Things are never that straight forward for me.......

Man thats bad luck! Still if you sign up for a new contract when the phone of your choice becomes available i'm sure you'll get some bundles thrown in which is always nice!

Unlucky mate. For future reference I think the best policy is to ask for a PAC (to transfer number to another network) that way they won't cancel your contract even if they don't offer you anything, the worst that can happen is the PAC expires and your contract continues as normal.

Ahhh... i did get a PAC code - but only after the contract was cancelled. The Upgrades people transferred me through to Retentions and then they just told me straight away that the contract was cancelled:

"Yes Taoski, i'll just transfer you to retentions"

"Thats cancelled for you Taoski, you will get a letter soon."

Me: "oh.. ok.. er.... can i have my PAC code?"

"okay.. hold on..." and then passed me back to another lady to get my PAC code.

Well i'm not 100% sure, but they can't cancel your contract for at least 30 days, which is when your PAC code will expire, otherwise your number is disconnected and lost. Because of this I thought the networks left the contract running until the number was transfered and if it wasn't then the contract continued. Might be worth checking with O.

Yeah... my contract runs until the 16th of next month - so i might be able to cancel the cancelling and get the E20 for free as offered on Sunday by upgrading my contract for 1 month.

We will see.....
