Drowned MPx200!

Recently while on holiday in Turkey I decided to go for a swim in the holtel pool, as you do, anyway after 10 minutes or so I realised that I had in all my wisdom left my treasured Moto in my swimming shorts pocket :)

It now refuses to work (surprise surprise!) Does anyone know if it can be repaired? Or is it completely f*cked and its time to start looking for a new phone?

Cheers for any help, I'm not quite ready to let go of the phone just yet :cry:

Try leaving it a few days to dry, and then if it doesn't work after that -

then it may be a new phone time :)

have already done that, it seems dry now from the outside (it happened last Tuesday), but no joy :lol:

I am back in the UK as of today and am thinking about opening it up to see if there is anything I can do. Its not like I've got anything to lose! :)

You know...i've had several dreams/nightmares about doing the exact same thing!!?! Hope i don't do the same on my hols this summer!

Light at the end of the tunnel! Orange will replace the MPx200 tomorrow at 0900am by courier. It only cost £100 plus I had to take out £5 a month insurance, and bearing in mind what happened I think insurance is a good idea anyway :)

Well it could have worked out a lot more expensive.

The moral of the story, don't go swimming with your phone :oops: , no call is worth it, leave it in the Hotel Room safe 8)

Just recieved my replacement mpx200 in the last 10mins.

Would not charge at all over the weekend. OCS sent me a new one within 24hours. Orange care definitely a bonus!

Yup. Orange Care is definately worth it. Whenever i've had a problem they've sent me out a new phone in less than 24 hours, even when i was at a different address to my billing address! Definately worth a fiver extra each month.

trip to turkey: 299 euros.

having a swim at the hotel pool: 10 euros.

forget the mobile phone in your swimming shorts: priceless.

for anything else: visa card.
