Guest Will Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Our ever industrious Florin_m *the man who unlocked the e200* has found the issue that is causing a few users to encounter problems when running the update, and provides a fix. Thank you florin! Some users receive their phones with a newer firmware that the one posted on orange web site. If you try to "upgrade" (better say downgrade) the software it will write a byte in firmware, forcing phone to go to bootloader so the upgrade it will proceed. Because the Orange UK upgrade is old it will not have the correct password to continue the upgrade so phone will stay always in bootloader!!!! Download the attachment and follow the instructions from the READ.ME inside the zip. Have fun! Read more, and download the fix here.
Guest BrAGoL Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 that's really a good news! :) but could you please attach the file and instruction here? with permission from the author, of course... Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Sadandgrumpy Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 I have my E200 stuck in Canary Screen (bootloader hell) and have tried this fix - however - how do I get it to load as active sync will not recognise the phone as in Canary Screen ! Hey ho - teach me to leave things alone - NOT ! :)
