Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Recently I had to do a hard reset and I figured out that the BT coming on when Flight Mode is switched off isn't a "standard" bug, because it didn't happen after the reset. I put my SPV3 into flight mode, after switching BT on, then I switched it off and ta daa - that's the bug. Whenever I take it off flight mode, it switches on BT. The workaround after experimenting a fair bit with it, that once you take it off flight mode, go to the quicklist and select flight mode again (before it finds network). It won't actually go into flight mode again, but switch Bluetooth off. Please someone else confirm this, and... You're welcome :)
Guest RichieRich Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Well whatdyaknow, it works for me!!!! :) But I guess that's a typical Orange trait, having an unexplainable fault, which is fixed by an even more unexplainable solution!!!! RR
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Thanks for replying!!! Really glad to have helped :)

Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 @Toyota-F1.com Do you know any _permanent_ solution for this issue? If I did I would've told you...! I'm not a big programming guy, I was just experimenting trying to find a solution and this is what I found, which I think isn't tooooooooooo bad.

Relaaaaaaax, I'm not offended, it was just me trying notto sound offending, but I failed because I didin't choose my words carefully enough. And in the process it seems I made mysself sound offended. Confused? Hope not, but anyway, I'm not offended at all  See!
Guest charlwillis Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Mmm, doesn't work for me. Bluetooth still stays in discoverable...
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Mmm, doesn't work for me. Bluetooth still stays in discoverable... That's strange, mine doesn't even go to discoverable. Are you sure it's off in the first place? PS welcome to the forum, I have read your posts in the "E200 call log thread" and the "SPV3 UK Update" thread. First, don't apologise about writing a "long thread" I think yours was fine!!! Others are far far far longer! I haven't been here looooooooooooong, other members have like 2000 posts! I also haven't updated, I've had my phone since 2 Feb 2004. Finally, welcome to the forum :)
Guest charlwillis Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Thank you! Yup, Bluetooth is off, until I turn on and off Flight Mode and then Bluetooth is in discoverable mode. It's not difficult to turn bluetooth off again obviously but it's a bit of a pain!
Guest Blakey Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 How comes you guys use "flight mode" so much? Are you all frequent fliers or something? Cheers Blakey
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 How comes you guys use "flight mode" so much? Are you all frequent fliers or something? Cheers Blakey I haven't flown once since I bought the E200, I used it when... when doing my battery tests, and when once in a while (e.g. once in a month) the G for GPRS doesn't appear when I switch the phone on, I do flight mode on then off, and then it re-appears!
