Guest pure_jax Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 I recently upgraded my phone to the new 2.6.1.3 and now cannot install any new programs as the software lock has be reactivated, i have already tried to use the unlock application and the one over the internet in the developers area and both have failed to work. I'm really angry as there is no way of downgrading the phone? so my phone is pretty much useless now! can someone please be so kind to give me some suggestions cause i really don't want to have to revert to using my 3310 again! Thanks, pure_jax
Guest Vector Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 When using the Orange OTA Unlock make sure you have a GPRS connection open before submitting the form, you can do this by just browsing to a webpage in pocket internet explorer :)
Guest zonkd Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Did you ever get your phone unlcoked, really want to know how.
Guest beersoft Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 all you need to do is go to this page http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx after your phone has connected to gprs, put in your name, email address, phone number in the international format ie +447123 456789 your imei number and you should get within 5 mins the update later Owen
Guest dearsina Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Not quite true, I've had problems with several phones not wanting to be unlocked. The problem seems to be that the Orange database doesn't update right away. If the phone isn't in the database, it wont be unlocked. The best, and only way so far of finding out if you are in the database, is to run a little program Orange give you if you punch in a faulty imei code (or, in one of my cases, simply an imei they didn't have on their database). I'm having problems as we speak with an SPV Classic. The phone is brand new, and yes I have surfed the net with it, and it still doesn't work. Luckily, I got an email from Orange Dev saying that they are hoping to release a new and completely version of the unlocking mechanism. What that involves, I don' know, but hopefully it'll solve some of the headaches the current version gives... sina london
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Did they give any indication of how long after you register the phone / IMEI the database is updated ?
