Guest OKrinke Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 [Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission OKrinke!] SYMPTOM: My display shows a lot of emails, but theres none in the inbox folder. In this folder there is displayed (-1) mails. If i get one mail it goes to zero. Does anybody knows how to get it to 0 normally. Is there a chance to reset the phone completly? RESOLUTION: None Known
Guest Shuflie Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I don't know if this will work or not but try setting your phone to sync email with outlook when you connect to active sync then when you remove you phone from the cradle set up a POP3 email account and delete the other account settings when it asks. Other than that all I could suggest is performing a hard reset, have a look around in the forum for details on how to do this.
Guest OKrinke Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 Hi, bad news: make a hardware reset! Thanks for the idea, but it tried severel options and only the reset (and all what come with it) works... Thanks Oliver
Guest madu Posted December 20, 2002 Report Posted December 20, 2002 Good lad!! That's the way to deal with the bugger!!
Guest Dicksie Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Yeah I've just got this bad boy too... I'm just going to hold out before I do a hard reset. Hopefully someone may come up with a solution.... (maybe Microsoft should!)
Guest Will Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 I have not had this bug, so i can't check. But this might help. I had the 'other' bug where the sms counter/email counter stayed at '1' Solution: Rename the cemail.vol file cemail.old and power phone on and off. Will
Guest Carnivor Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 out of intrest, how many mails were there b4 it happened? this may be an indication to how it problem occures
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 It's a bug with the MS smscount plugin....
Guest Dicksie Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 out of intrest, how many mails were there b4 it happened? this may be an indication to how it problem occures Not many - I've only had the phone a couple of days - probably about 4 or 5 and I was deleting them at the time.
Guest Dicksie Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Solution: Rename the cemail.vol file cemail.old and power phone on and off. Yes this resolved the issue (but remember anyone who does this - you will lose your SMS/E-Mail).
Guest Carnivor Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 time for someone to do a nice little pc app that can open the .vol file, just to extract anything that may be of high importance.
Guest ppcsurfr Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Okay... would anyone know if the Inbox database or the Inbox system of the SMP2002 is similar to that opf the Pocket PC? This "-1" Unread Messages appears on Pocket PCs too... but there is a fix for this one already... would anyone want to try if this will work for the SMP2002 too??? http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?itemid=1161 ppcsurfr
