Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 Welcome to the site :) Normally if you cannot get past that screen then the only way to fix this is to do a Hard Reset if that fails then you would have to reinstall the update again.
Guest sinned1109 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 thanks...that's what i thought...my dad brought it to the smart center...was just wondering why it did what it did? i was happily transferring the files w/out any problem...anyways..worst scenario was he lost some contacts :)
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 You will definitely lose everything when you hard reset your unit. Most of the time, when the phone goes back to factory default, programs installed in IPSM will be lost. Try Sprite Backup software. It will do wonders on your phone. You'll be able to restore your system after a hard reset or after a phone crash. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Why it did what it did? Answers based from my experiences: - Could be due to corrupt registry entries. It might get cluttered when you have too many apps installed and phone just 'could not cope up'. Its a safe practice to reboot phone with every app installed. - Improper task management. Happens when you have to many programs running in the background then you failed to close them before you reboot your unit. Thus, close running non-system applications using task management softwares (SP Task Manager, Xbar etc) is another healthy practice. - Phone just got berzerk. Oh well it happens sometimes. Reason? Only God knows. [:)] Posted from my SmartPhone!
