MPX200!!! AT-T DID APPLICATION LOCK MY PHONE! HELP!

maybe i have just been extremely lucky in the past. Or maybe im extremely unlucky now!

I have had over 11 mpx200's since november! Wanna know how. Well AT-T had a 30 day gaurantee on the phone, so every 30 days i'd go to a different at-t store and tell them i wanna replace the mpx200 for a brand new one, bc this one had problems. So i did it every 30 days, rotating stores! Every new time i exchanged, they would give me a brand new reciept. Till finnally one lady realized, that the reciept i gave her was an exchange recpiet, not a purchase reciept. AT LEAST THEY HAD ONE INTELLIGENT EMPLOYEE! yeh, so she turned me down, and i just got tired of swapping them in. but anway! half of the time. the phone really did break! I HAVE HAD EVERY PROBLEM YOU CAN THINK OF WITH THE PHONES! VIRUSES! CRASHES! SCREENS SHUTTING DOWN WITH GREEN LINES LOOKING LIKE THE MATRIX, THEN TURNING ON AND OFF BY ITSELF AND I CANT STOP IT. ANOTHER ONE IS WHEN THE PHONE WAS PLUGGED INTO MY USB CORD TO COMP. THEY TECHNICIAN BELIEVES THE PHONE FRIED DUE TO VOLTAGE SHOCK THROUGH USB CORD. UNBELIEVEABLE, NOW I NEED A SHOCK PROTECTOR FOR MY DAMN PHONE! MY NEW ONE I JUST GOT 3 WEEKS AGO, I ALREADY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH, SEE ABOUT 5 SECONDS AFTER IT TURNS OFF, IT VIBRATES 3 TIMES. FOR NO REASON. EH?? THIS DOESNT EFFECT MY USE OF THE PHONE, ITS JUST ANOTHER FLAW. A COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE TURNED OFF THE PHONE. AND WHEN THE PHONE WAS OFF THE SHUTDOWN SCREEN WAS STILL VISIBLE. YOU HAD TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT FOR IT TO GO AWAY! SENT THAT BITCH BACK TO AT-T!

anyway here is my new problem. on the old phones. i could run any application known to man! just plugged em in and wam it ran. its as if the phone came application unlocked! now, maybe it did come application unlocked, i mean, everyone around here says that AT-T automatically ships them app unlocked. well, thats where i have a problem with believeing that. I WOULD HAVE BELIEVED THAT UP TILL NOW! i save all my contacts, programs ive bought through handago, smartphone.net, windows, ect. they are all on the website if i ever need to download them again. but i really dont need to download the apps again because my activesync saves the apps. So all i have to do, is plug in the phone, put standard partnership, make a new phone name, e.g. SMARTPHONE 11. then all my contacts get sent over to phone, and then i get to choose which apps i want to send over!!!!

well i choose to send novosec filter pro. it is a call blocker. worked fine on all my other phones. except this one. When i install it, it says successfully installed. I install it to phones memory. not SD cards. i have tried sd cards, but it doesnt make a difference it still doesnt work.

it gives me the message that my phone is not fully unlocked. please unlock your phone and reinstall the application. application aborting.

wtf? gimme some help here. if at-t ships em app unlocked, why is mine locked. Should i just say it is broken and send it back, and get another one for $10? yes ten dollars, not one hundred.

i have downloaded binary smart explorer, hawk browser, Tetris, mpegtv tvpocket pro, photo contacts, softagency remote desktop and they all work fine.

i have tried over and over using alphlux unlock but it doesnt work. i copy it into my phone, and run it, it tells me application installed succesfully. but other than that, you dont even know its there. it doesnt help!!!

can anyone help me out????

AND YES I HAVE DONE MASTER RESETS, BUT THEY DONT HELP AT ALL! IN FACT, THEY HURT IT. THEY MADE 2 OF MY ICONS GO AWAY! FILE MANAGER IS GONE. SO I HAD TO DOWNLOAD SMART EXPLORER TO REPLACE IT. AND SPEEDIAL SHORTCUT IS GONE TOO. , WELL badword IT. I NEED HELP YOU GUYS!!! I JUST DID I HARD RESET, TURNED ON THE PHONE, INSTALLED ALPHLUX UNLOCKER BY ITSELF, THEN TURNED THE PHONE OFF, THEN BACK ON AND INSTALLED NOVOSEC, AND IT STILL WONT WORK!!!!

AND RIGHT WHEN I TURNED THE PHONE OFF, IT JUST VIBRATED 3 MORE TIMES. WTF? MICROSOFT U PUNK BITCHES, U NEED TO MAKE ANTI VIRUS PROTECTION FOR YOUR DAMN PHONES!!!!

hmmm... this is kinda weird, i dont know if they come app unlocked or not, but i know the Orange OTA doesnt work with AT-T :) sorry!

Mabye someone who uses AT-T could halp you out?

i guess you are using the alphaflux unlock cab, this was something we all went 'D'oh they can't have forgotten that' but it did work. it's possible the rom version in your latest phone is newer and removes this ability..

hard resets will rebuild the os on the phone from the rom image stored in the memory, if there are 'add-on' carrier special software, these may be lost in a hard reset. (o2's xphone users experience this).

If you have 'master/hard' reset the phone, the 'VIRUS' you claim must be in the rom image (unlikely). try some simple applications that are unsigned on this phone.

it is MORE possible that the registry and rom has been 'properly' protected to prevent changes to the telephony areas, and security areas, unisigned applications.... hence blocking 'call blocker' apps etc..

the 3 buzzes you get on startup may be a 'feature of this new rom version' maybe check in settings/about and compare the version you are on with that shipped on your previous phones.

ps AVOID THE CAPS, they don't encourage responses!

yes i am american, yes i have tried alphaflux, i have tried everything.

you see, heres the deal, ive got warranty phones from at-t throught the mail like 3 times so far. they ask u all these stupid questions like, have u ever dropped it, if u say yes, then they wont send the phone, duh!!!!

its not hard to lie. just act like u cherished it and u have never done anything wrong. and they have to send the phone. they sometimes say, it is gonna be like 30 bucks, but the customer rep. lady told me she thinks its ridiculous, so she told me to complain to her supervisor and i could get it for 10, so i did and she was right. she practically told me a cheaper way to get the phone. that inlcudes shipping too. so everytime now, they automatically just give it to me for 10. but anyway. i'm just gonna send it back yall. get a new one.

ok sorry about the caps. ok, do u know how to find out what version of rom, i am using. how can i find out all the stuff u need me too. ima post it all on here. then yall tell me if it is correct or not.

The apps that are gone should be on the cd that you have with your

phone but more importantly are you trying the unsigned version of Smart Explorer? as the message you are getting is not the usual one for

application locked phones. Try some of the apps from www.monolithix.org

ie SPVman and see if they run.

Finally at this time there are no viruses for the phone (luckily) so that's one thing you do not have.

Also for the rom version etc go to SettingsAbout

pocketcandy screensaver seems to work. man att better hope they didnt give me a newer one with an update so i cant use that call blocker, bc man ima go crazy i swear. o boy.. im serious. it sucks.!

Easy problem, easy solution. Your phone is not locked.

Simply use the ORIGINAL PC-Installer of SmartFilter (Setup_SmartFilter...exe) to install it again and all will work fine.

If you can run pocket candy then your phone is not locked, as

far as I'm aware that is not a signed app.

Radio stack is the part of the phone that enables you to make calles etc.

Another problem could be that you may need to contact the author of the app you want to use as it could be a bug in the program.

Have you had any other apps not work at all?

yeh m-vision. um a few others just install and then dont work.

alot of them, when i send them to my phone, active sync says check ur phone for further installation, steps ya know?

so i look at my phone and it usually asks me whether storage card or phone to install too. but it doesnt ask either, its just the plain home screen, so i try to install it again, while watching the homescreen, the installation screen comes up for 1 second and then dissapears, and then the home screen comes straight back up.

i just cant figure out why this would happen. the att guy told me he would send me a new phone for processing fee of 5 bucks. i think they try to scam the people first, and if u complain they give it to you for cheap.

but anway, so do yall feel that this phone is ok? and why was the radio version updated, any guesses??? well this phone is def gettin swapped, jus bc its too much trouble to fix it. so anyone got any stuff they wanna test out ???

Ok for the install problems above there are two possible reasons.

1, You do not have enough free physical memory available, notmally a reboot sorts this out.

2, You have a failed install, if so go to IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall

and delete the contents you find there.
