SD Card Installation Failures

EDIT 24/05/04 22:14 Finally sorted it. After hard reseting several times I decided to reinstall the update on top of itself. No problems at all now (which is a relief). Strange bug that, I wonder what caused it?

EDIT 24/05/04: After more fiddling I've discovered the phone will not install to the 256Mb SD card or even to the Orange original 8Mb card that came with the phone (same error report about not being able to install to that location). Sometimes the install does successfully occur on the card but the programs are not recognised and do not show up when exploring using Activesync.

Anything copied to the card like music files or text files work fine with the programs I've installed onto the phone memory.

Again this makes me think of a phone problem rather than a card problem but please correct me if I'm wrong.

This threads looking more like a diary than a post at the moment. :)

EDIT 23/05/04: Since the original post I've installed PocketMusic to the phone memory and copied some music files to the card which play fine. It seems that it's the apps in the Program Files folder on the card which aren't recognised (or even being displayed using Activesync). This makes me think it's more of a phone problem than a card problem as if the card was dying surely the whole of the card would be unusable rather than just the program files folder?

Original post: I've been using my 256Mb Dane-Elec SD card for 18 months without any problems at all until an hour ago. Anything that's been installed on the card fails to be recognised by the phone and when I examined the contents of the card using Activesync the contents were out of their directory structure and some files were not there at all.

I have Hard Reset my E200 and formatted the SD card using Binaries Task Manager but whenever I try to install anything on the card I get errors.

I can install programs to the phone memory and the phone can read the 8Mb card that came with the phone.

Do you think that my SD card has grown old and died on me, or could it be a E200 problem. I don't fancy the idea of buying a new SD card only to find out the card itself is not the problem.
