Hi,

I really like the RJShortcut. I have all the icons appearing like I want, but can't get the text to appear. What am I doing wrong? XML follows. I tried the Appname stuff in two locations. Both shown. Thanks, again, RemyJ for making such a cool thing. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the other RJ plugins.

Thanks in advance,

Knox

I'm not sure if this is just a typo in the post, but the height attribute is outside the plugin element's closing >. If it's really this way in the XML file, then that's the problem.

The second version is correct (outside the shortcutbar element) and it looks correctly formatted.

Is the plugin allocating space for the appname and just leaving it empty or is there no space for it at all?

Yes, I corrected the height attribute and it started working. I took my sample directly from RJ Plugin ( http://smartphone.peakin.com/download/rjsh...cut/readme.html ) so it could be that there is a typo there :) .

I sort of expected the text to be more like balloon text. AT&T has a stupid icon plugin (came with the phone) which forces the their mmode icon, but it does have nice balloon text for each of the icons.

Thank you for your quick help. Not knowing XML, it might have been a long time for me to fix it.

Thanks,

Knox

HA!! You're right, it's munged up in the readme. Sorry about that.

Balloon huh? I'll have to think about that.

No problem - I'm just one of those few guys that reads AND follows the instructions, sometimes :).

phone shot on knoxscape

is an example of the AT&T plugin with balloons. The balloon appears gracefully over the icon selected for about 5 seconds and then fades out. When you change the selected icon, it appears again. When I say it appears gracefully, I mean that it is positioned in such a way that it helps you identify which icon is selected. Notice that by appearing over the icon, it reduces the amount of screen space it takes up.

Thanks again,

Knox
