E200 Registry Help

Hiya

Ive heard alot on here about registry entries in the E200, but how on earth do you access the registry for the phone?

Can someone offer help on this for me, step by step.

Download PHM Registry editor, but i don't advise messing with the registry unless you

know what your are doing as you can completely screw your phone :)

Its okay Im not a technophobe, I know about touching the registry cos I do stuff with my pc, and its not broke.

Its just in case i need to know anything, Ill download the program but I doubt Ill use it, its just there for me.

You might be able to help me abit more, the reason I need the reg editor is due to not being able to remove all the programs that on my remove programs list on the phone, I think I found something aboit it, but cant find the site again, Im not sure whether it was on here or not.

You got any ideas where the remove progams details would be in the registry, and would be that only way to get rid of the stuff off the list.

Think your only option there is a hard reset :lol:

Back everything up using Sprite backup and you can sync contacts with outlook :)

Advice: don't use the search function on PHM Registry Editor because it crashes your SPV3.

Yes I found that last night, when I tried to do a find, it locked up.

I did find where the info was for the remove programs, but it wouldnt let me remove them. So Im still stuck.

Any ideas.

Im assuming the values are in a protected area of the reg so a cab file is needed to change them...or an app. I dont know the values off hand but i'll ave a look if u post their loctions and see what can be done :wink:

Hi

Ive decided to do a Sprite Backup and then a hard reset, so Im back at factory settings, and then Ill OTA unlock it and then try the backup.

Most of the stuff I have is available from sites I have bookmarked, so its no biggie if the backup doesnt work great. Also Ive back my contacts and stuff up to Orange using the Orange Backup and Restore facility.

Ill let you know how I get on.

Yeh thats the place. U'd need an app to do that i think coz a .cab cant delete reg entries. I know a bloke who has ALOT of spare time on his hands so i'll ask him if he'll put a app together coz i dunno how.

The hard reset will've done it anyway.

BTW: "HKLM/Security/AppInstall/Rey Vegafria Terminator3" Is that a PocketMusic Skin or a homscreen?

Im not sure about that homescreen skin, I creat my own now using tsk files into hme files.

I have actually had to hard reset the phone twice cos the first time nothing worked i couldnt open menus, so I had to do it again.

I cant get Regedt to download to my phone, it is an E200 2003, does it work on that version?
